Judith 'Judy' A. Bagby

“Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother”

It is with deep sadness that the family of Judith A. Bagby announces her passing on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Judy, as she was known by family and friends, was surrounded by her loving family and was under the care of Niagara Hospice. Judith fought a courageous, brave and heroic battle with cancer. Her faith in the Lord remained strong through it all.

Judy was born on August 27, 1940 in Lewiston, NY. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Helen Malaney. Judith married the love of her life, Robert A. Bagby, Sr. on December 6, 1958.

A lifelong homemaker, her zest for life, kindness to others and love for her children, shined through each day. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved holidays and family events and was known for her unconditional love and finding the good in everyone she met. Judy considered her family her greatest accomplishment and was extremely proud to acknowledge it. She enjoyed going to bingo, working in her yard, cooking, keeping her house spotless and the occasional trip to the casino.

Judy’s loving husband and family were truly the central focus of her existence. She was simply the best wife, mom and grandma her family could of asked for. Judy’s family was richly blessed because of her.

Judy found comfort in this bible verse from Isaiah 12:2 “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.”

Judy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert A. Bagby, Sr. of the Town of Niagara, NY; two children, Bonnie (Wayne) Santoro and Kevin Bagby both of the Town of Niagara, NY; three grandchildren, Robert A. (Carrie Hall) Bagby, III and Nicholas and Matthew Santoro all of the Town of Niagara, NY and one great-grandchild, Bobby Bagby. She is also survived by one brother, Jack (Esther) Malaney of Bergenfield, New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Edna (late Earl) Delong of Tennessee and a special person who was like a sister to Judy, Sharon (Harold) King of Tennessee. In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her beloved son, Robert A. ‘Chip’ Bagby, Jr.

The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday from 6-9 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007) where a funeral service will be held on Monday, June 4th at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Maines officiating. Prayers of committal will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
