Chester J. Lucinski

U.S. Veteran

Chester J. Lucinski, 81, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY, following a lengthy illness. Born on February 4, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lokadya (Stuszewska) Lucinski.

Mr. Lucinski attended local schools. Chester proudly served as a 3rd Class Petty Officer, during the Korean War, in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Charles H. Roan, from April 26, 1948 until his honorable discharge on April 21, 1952. Following his discharge, he attended all reunions for the ship. In 1951, Mr. Lucinski married Rosemarie Lucinski. She predeceased him in 2002. Chester worked as a body repairman for the former Whitworth Motors, as well as Kudleas Collision. Prior to his illness, he very much enjoyed swimming. Mr. Lucinski was also an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabers fan. Chester took great pride in serving for the Prowl Neighborhood Watch. He resided in Ocala Florida for about ten years, until he became ill, 1 year ago, and moved to live with his son in the Town of Niagara, NY.

Mr. Lucinski is survived by one daughter; Patricia (Ernest) Grenzy of Lewiston, NY; one son, Stephen (Rosetta) Lucinski of the Town of Niagara, NY; eight grandchildren, Kevin (Vanessa) Lucinski, Timothy (Lindsey) Lucinski, Kelly (Troy) Munt, Daniel (Ali Edwards) Lucinski, Danielle (Erik) Battaglia, Angela (Eric) Tuchols, Matthew Grenzy and Michael (Janelle) Grenzy; eleven great-grandchildren and one expecting great-grandchild. Chester is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald and Richard; his sister Alice Starkey and his friend Richard (Carmela) Lazarz.

The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007) where a funeral service, concluding with Military Honors, will be held on Wednesday, January 2nd at 10:00 a.m. Private burial will be held in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
