Arnold J. "Arnie" Nagelhout, 73, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Thursday, July 30, 2015 in Niagara Hospice House, following a brief illness.  Born on December 1, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Arnold F. and Elizabeth (O'Neill) Nagelhout. 

Mr. Nagelhout was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY.  Arnie graduated from the former Bishop Duffy High School as well as Alfred State College.  He proudly served in the United States Army from February 24, 1964, until his honorable discharge on January 31, 1970.  On April 17, 1971, he married the former Josephine M. "Jo" Praydich.  She predeceased him on April 6, 2003.  For thirty-five years, Mr. Nagelhout was employed as an engineer for Conrail (currently CSX).  Arnie was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, where he attended the Prince of Peace worship site and served as a Eucharistic Minister.  He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) and the Knights of Columbus Council #247.  He enjoyed gardening.

Mr. Nagelhout is survived by three sons, Richard A. (Angela) Nagelhout of Niagara Falls, NY, Robert J. Nagelhout of Youngstown, NY and Brian P. Nagelhout of Niagara Falls, NY; two daughters, Debora A. Nagelhout of Phoenix, AZ and Kathleen E. (Brian) Kennedy of Goshen, IN and four grandchildren, Katelin, Ashley, Zachary and Jacob.  Arnie is also survived by one brother, Frederick J. (Marcy) Nagelhout of Ohio; one sister, Anna J. Nagelhout of Oregon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where funeral services will begin on Monday, August 3rd at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. which will be celebrated in St. Vincent de Paul Parish (Prince of Peace worship site), 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Jeffrey Nowak serving as celebrant.  Interment, concluding with military honors, will be held in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.  Please visit www.ottoredanz.com
