Dale David Bolam, 85, a longtime resident of the Town of Niagara, went to live with the Lord on November 27, 2015.  He was in the Niagara Hospice in Lockport, NY, surrounded by his loving family.

Dale was born in Universal, PA on April 16, 1930 to the late Glenn C. and late Florence Z. (Miller) Bolam.  He moved to Niagara Falls in 1949 and went to work for the Booth and Strong Lumber Co. He later went to work for Downing Container in Buffalo, NY, which later became Waste Management, from where he retired in 1992. On March 10, 1951, he married Beverly J. Wahl in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at Michigan Avenue and 10th Street.  In May of 1951 he entered the United States Army and spent some time in Austria and Germany.  Upon his honorable discharge in 1953 the Bolams took up residence in the Town of Niagara where Dale lived the rest of his life.  After Dale and Beverly retired they started traveling around the country which gave them many wonderful memories and a lot of new friends.  Dale was also an avid golfer and back in the sixties he was a mechanic in the Bill Rafter Race Team.  Later he was a mechanic in the Hal Lawrence Race Team.  When he could no longer do those things, he sat back and enjoyed his great- granddaughter Alexis race her go-kart at Ransomville every week.  He will also be missed by his “hot dog buddy”, Dan Tomasulo.  They enjoyed going to Ted’s Hot Dogs every week for many years.  One of his biggest thrills was listening to country music and watching the Stone Country Band and The Twang Gang.  Dale loved old time country music and had the pleasure of meeting some of its biggest stars through the years in Branson, MO and Nashville, TN.

Besides his wife Beverly, he is survived by two sons, Ronald D. (Barbara) Bolam of N.C. and Randall D. (Karen) Bolam of the Town of Lewiston.  Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Dale R. (Tina) Bolam, Daniel (Corinne) Bolam, and Shannon Bolam, all of Niagara Falls, NY, Kristin (Jeffrey) Carroll of VA. and Jennifer Bolam of VA.  He had 2 step grandchildren, Jamie (Nicholas) Hebert and Christopher Franczak both of Buffalo.  Also missing him are 7 great- grandchildren, Aubrey Bolam, the United States Navy and Hunter Bolam, of North Tonawanda, NY , Alexis and Amber Bolam and Kendra York all of Niagara Falls, Michael and Peter Joseph Carroll both of VA.  There are also 3 step great-grandchildren, Samantha, Anora and Liam Hebert of Buffalo, NY. Dale was also survived by his nephew David (Shirley) Bolam of PA.   Besides his parents, Dale was predeceased by his brother Glenn L. (the late Frances) Bolam of PA.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 30th from 4-7 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where a funeral service, concluding with military honors, will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Rev.
