Eric Walton, Sr.

Eric Walton, Sr., 84, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this life on Monday, July 10, 2017 at his residence, while surrounded by his loving family.  Born on May 13, 1933, he was the son of the late John Walton Sr. and the late Maude Constant (Garaway) Walton.

Mr. Walton was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools.  Eric was honorably discharged from the United States Army, after proudly serving during the Korean War. On July 31, 1955, he married the former Marion L. Jones.  Mr. Walton was the owner and operator of Walton’s Landscaping and was an employee of General Motors.  Eric had a passion for helping others.  He was a member of Faith Community Church of the Nazarene, where he was intricate in their outreach program.  Mr. Walton also served on the Board of Directors of New Voice Club of the Niagara Frontier and specialized in antiques.

In addition to his beloved wife of over 61 years, Mr. Walton is survived by four daughters, Roxanne (Stephen) Fleury, Gail (Jim) McKeel, Laura Walton and Tammy (Wayne) Hokanson; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Eric is also survived by one brother, Gilbert (late Joan) Walton; one sister, Joan (Gene) Kasper and serval nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Eric Walton, Jr.; and four siblings, Shirley, Larry, Clive and John Walton, Jr.

The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at Faith Community Church of the Nazarene, 3520 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn, NY, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 15th at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to New Voice Club of the Niagara Frontier, 142 Nancy Crest Lane, West Seneca, NY 14224.  Condolences may also be sent to the family by visiting www.goodlandercares.com.  Arrangements under the direction of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME.
