Frederick E. Clark, Sr.

Frederick E. Clark, Sr., 75, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at his residence, following a lengthy illness.  Born on August 26, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY, Fred, as he was known to family and friends, was the son of the late Gordon and Marian (Duell) Clark.  

Mr. Clark was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY.  Fred attended local schools and was a graduate of the first graduating class at Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1960.  He then enlisted in the United States Army on March 10, 1961 and proudly served during the Vietnam War and also was employed as a communications officer, until his retirement from the Army on March 31, 1981.  While serving, he was awarded numerous medals and badges. Shortly after enlisting in the Army, on May 20, 1961, Mr. Clark married the former Roberta M. Westerman.  Following his military duties, Fred was employed as a project manager for Sierra Research, a Fire Inspector for the Town of Niagara and later the Building Inspector for the Town of Niagara.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.), an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed fishing, camping, model trains and cooking.

In addition to his beloved wife Roberta, Mr. Clark is survived by two children, Pamela (Donald) Lord and Frederick E. (Jennifer) Clark, Jr.; three grandchildren, Brandie (Earl) Bane, Benjamin (Jacquelin) Lord and Tayllor P. Clark; three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Hunter and Carter; one brother, William (Carol) Clark and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Fred’s family will gather to receive friends on Friday, May 12th from 4-7 p.m., concluding with full Military Honors, in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to honor Fred in the form of a contribution are asked to consider the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.). Please visit www.goodlandercares.com to view Fred’s obituary, light a candle or leave a note of condolence.
