Harry David Reiter, 84, of Lewiston, NY, passed from this life on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his home. Born on April 10, 1932 in Reynoldsville, PA, he was the son of the late Carl and Ellen (Dinger) Reiter.

Harry attended schools in Pennsylvania while helping with the family farm. He left to proudly serve in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War from 1951 until his honorable discharge on July 28, 1952. Upon his return he settled in Niagara Falls where he met his future everything, Janet Ruscitto who became his wife on October 24, 1953. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage before her passing on April 8, 2005.

Harry began his long career in the paper mill industry at Kimberly Clark in Niagara Falls. Left the area to work for Pope and Talbot, Orange County California then off to Potlatch in Lewiston, Idaho and ended with his retirement from Potlatch in Ransom, PA as plant manager.  Retired to Henderson, NV south of Las Vegas where he and his wife enjoyed volunteering for the McCaw School of Mining.  When his wife, Janet, became ill in 2004, they returned home to NY and settled in Lewiston to be with family.

Harry was an avid outdoorsman and had a love for camping and trips with his family.  He was a frustrated fan of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres and always looked forward to the next NASCAR race.  One of Harry’s many talents was woodworking, which friends and family got to enjoy in the form of intricate clocks and keepsakes.

Harry was famous for his sense of humor and getting his message across with very few words.  His family was his passion and he will be deeply missed by all.

His survivors include three children, Harry Michael (Diane), Thomas Carl (Denise) both of Hilton, NY and Cynthia Meidenbauer (Robert) who he resided with in Lewiston, NY.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Robert Edmund Meidenbauer, Jr (JoAnna), Steven Michael Reiter (Tracey), Anthony David Meidenbauer (Jennifer), Jason David Reiter (Kim), Kevin Edward Reiter (fiance Taylor Hall ), Cara Elizabeth Maluchnik (Kevin), Ajalyn Nichole Reiter (fiance Trevor Secore) and Krysta Marie Reiter along with two step-granddaughters Erica Norman (Robert) and Shera Mondoux (Matthew).  He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren.

Harry was pre-deceased by his brothers and their wives Kenneth (Nola) and Max (Bonnie) all of Reynoldsville, PA and survived by his brother Phillip Merle (Judy predeceased) also of Reynoldsville, PA
