Bert, Mary Jo and loving family, I've been thinking about Joann a lot lately, as her service draws near. When Mary Jo called, I could see Joann walking towards me on the workroom floor, with a grin on her face and her bright eyes. We always had a laugh, about life at the Postal Service and in general. I am so thankful for Joann in my life and in the lives of everyone else who knew and laughed with her. What a gift! I know she'll be present at the service in Morrisville this weekend and so sorry I can't be there to give her and all of you a big hug.

Dear Bert and family--Dennis and I send our deepest sympathy to all of your family. We loved Joann and so enjoyed our get-togethers--usually laughing our way through them. She was a gentle and caring person and always ready to help whoever was in need. May the warmest of memories comfort you now and in the future.

She was a bright light. A force to be reckoned with. There wasn't a time when she and I talked that we didn't laugh until we almost wet our pants. I enjoyed her energy, quick smile and enthusiasm for everything she loved. It's hard to believe that light is diminished. I am thinking of your loss and heartache and my heart soars into the universe in support of yours.
