Judith “Judy” Ambrosia (nee Hoover) passed away peacefully on October 10, 2016 after a lengthy illness at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY.  Born April 28th, 1942, to the late Frederick and Ruth (Soladay) Hoover, in Niagara Falls, she was the youngest of 8 children.  On July 23, 1960 Judy married her childhood sweetheart, Delbert L. Ambrosia at Bacon Memorial Presbyterian Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Judy attended local schools, later going on to school in Boston, MA where she received her license as an esthetician.  She operated her own business on Main Street in Niagara Falls.

Judy loved to spend time outdoors and in her garden.  On a nice day, she often would be outside doing yard work or playing with her grandkids.  She had many hobbies and enjoyed reading, word puzzles, knitting, crafting, cooking and sewing.  During her time at Our Lady of Peace, Judy continued to sew, making blankets for other residents.   Most dear to her though and a great source of pride, was her family.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much joy and happiness.

Judy is survived by her sons Delbert L. (Irene) Ambrosia Jr of Cambria, NY and Jeffrey L. (Christina) Ambrosia of Niagara Falls, NY, her grandchildren Michael (Sarah) Ambrosia, Katherine Ambrosia, Jenna (Alan) Gansworth, Alicen, Jacob, Joseph, and Emma Ambrosia, her great-grandchildren Olivia, Claire, Julia, Genevieve, Grace, Alan Jr., and Evan and by her sister Elizabeth Buck, sisters-in-law Barbara (Arnold) Crosby, Montana Hoover, Sally Hoover and Ilene Hoover.  Judy is also survived by her dear friend Georgie (Leige) Clare of Niagara Falls, NY and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Judy is predeceased by her beloved husband Delbert L. Ambrosia Sr. and her son, Timothy L. Ambrosia.  She is also predeceased by her siblings Samuel Hoover, Hazel (Elwood) Buck, Lee Hoover, Ernest Hoover, Clarence Hoover, and Orabell Hoover.

Visitation will be on Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, October 14th at 10:30 a.m.  Private interment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart Association.  Please visit www.goodlandercares.com for online condolences.
