Margaret (Glaser) Snider

Margaret (nee Glaser) Snider, 88, formerly of Lewiston, NY, passed from this life on Monday, April 17th in Northgate Health Care Facility.  Born on November 24, 1928 in Niagara Falls, NY, Margaret was the daughter of the late Karl J. and Margaret (Baker) Glaser.  On December 27, 1952, Margaret married Paul S. Snider in the former Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls.  He predeceased her on December 5, 2014.

Margaret graduated from St. Mary's High School and received a BS in business from D'Youville College. After working as a homemaker, she was employed at the Niagara Falls Police Department and was secretary to the chief of police for seven years.  During her retirement, Margaret enjoyed volunteer work at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and spending time with her grandchildren.    An expert seamstress and knitter, she took pride in making gifts for loved ones. 

Margaret is survived by two children, Mary (Donald) Gunn and Paul S. Snider, Jr.; six grandchildren, Bradley and Matthew Gunn, Carolyn (Matthew) Russo, Andrea Alli and Daniel and Bradley Snider; three great-grandchildren, Abigail and Samantha Gunn and Nicholas Russo.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ellen (Tony) Alli, who passed on May 11, 2015 and her sister, Genevieve (late Edmund) King.

The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara, where funeral services will begin on Saturday, April 22nd at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. which will be celebrated in St. Raphael Parish, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic serving as celebrant.  Prayers of committal and entombment will follow in the Holy Angels Mausoleum Chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
