Michael D. Wilson, SMSGT USAF (Ret.)

Michael D. Wilson, SMSGT USAF (Ret.), 67, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born on September 14, 1949 in Niagara Falls, NY, Michael was the son of the late Douglas and Winona (Woleslagle) Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was a lifelong area resident.  Michael attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle High School.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves in the 1970’s and proudly served in the Air National Gaurd from July 1, 1994 until his honorable discharge and retirement on November 30, 2005. Mr. Wilson was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his outstanding service as an officer and leader. Michael was an avid golfer and fisherman.  Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his four children, Corey D. (Amanda) Wilson, Scott M. (Marla) Wilson, Amanda E. Hatfield-Wilson and Allison M. Hatfield-Wilson; four grandchildren, Adrianna G., Alexa J., Olivia R. and Samuel D. Wilson; one sister, Susan (Jack) Krajewski and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no prior visitation.  A private celebration of Michael’s life will be held with his family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara.
