Nancy A. (Bruns) Bergthold

Nancy A. (nee Bruns) Bergthold, 66, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Friday, September 18, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born on October 31, 1948 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Clara (Glonek) Bruns.  On February 5, 1969, Nancy married James R. 'Jim' Bergthold, Sr.  He predeceased her on January 25, 2014.

Mrs. Bergthold was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY.  Nancy attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School.  She was employed as a housekeeper for the Best Western on Buffalo Avenue as well as a telephone operator for American Secretarial. Mrs. Bergthold was also the owner and operator of Nana B's Candy, and was well known for her candy making.  

Mrs. Bergthold is survived by three children, James R. 'Tim' (Lori Lozina) Bergthold, Jr., Francine (Marcus) Ownes and Tracy (Gerald Mitchell, Jr.) Bergthold all of Niagara Falls, NY; seven grandchildren, Ryan Marie and MacKenzie Lozina, Colton Johnson, Timothy Bergthold, Dylan Soley, Gerald Mitchell, III and Tristan Mitchell; four great-grandchildren; one brother and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was predeceased by many siblings.

There will be no prior visitation.  Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Nancy's life on Thursday, September 24th beginning at 6:00 p.m. at her home, 1924 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).
