Richard L. Fisher, Sr., 78, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Saturday, May 7, 2016 in Schoellkpof Health Center.  Born on November 6, 1937 in Selinsgrove, PA, he was the son of the late John William and Vasthia Celeste (Zerbe) Fisher.  

Mr. Fisher attended schools in Pennsylvania and came to Niagara Falls, NY in 1952.  Richard proudly served in the United States Army, as a sharpshooter, from September 27, 1961 until he was honorably discharged on September 18, 1963.  On November 6, 1965, he married the former Barbara A. Seyler.  Mr. Fisher was employed as a mechanic for various local companies, until he retired.  Richard was an active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.  He served as a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels.  Mr. Fisher was a lifelong NY Yankees fan and enjoyed trains and bowling.

In addition to his beloved wife of over fifty years, Mr. Fisher is survived by one son, Richard L. (Luke Curtis) Fisher, Jr. of Augusta, ME; one daughter, Jodi Fisher of Lockport, NY; three siblings, Polly (late Paul) Mehls of Niagara Falls, NY, Ralph (Jane) Fisher of Allentown, PA and Harry (Cathy) Fisher of Bethlehem, PA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by one brother, John Fisher and one sister, Betty Worthington.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, concluding with military honors, on Thursday, May 12th at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Thomas Mason officiating.  A luncheon will follow the service at the church.  There will be no calling hours.
