Russell G. Kunigisky

Russell G. Kunigisky, 65, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NY, following a lengthy illness.  Born on November 2, 1949 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late George and Corrine (Jamieson) Kunigisky.

Russ, as he was known to family and friends, attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School.  He proudly served in the United States Navy from January 3, 1968 until his honorable discharge on January 2, 1974.  While serving, Russ was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon.  Throughout his career, he was employed as a laborer for various companies.  Russ was a member of the American Legion.

Russ is survived by three children, Michele Osman, Jason Squires and Darcey Wunker; several grandchildren; one sister, Janet (Charlie) Caccamise; nieces, Tara Stutz and Kendra Markel and great-niece and nephews, Audrey, Ryker and Tyler.
