Sarah Washington

Sarah Washington, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Thursday, August 3, 2017 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after being strong, vibrant and graceful until the very end. Born on January 6, 1924 in Shuqualok, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late George and Annie (Byron) Washington.

Sarah was raised in Mississippi, moved to Chicago in her 20’s and later came to Niagara Falls, NY.  Throughout her career, she worked as a domestic helper in various capacities and locations.

Sarah is survived by her daughter, Soljia Williams; grandchildren, Margaret Kitchener and John Craig and six great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Craig.
