Philip V. Dury, Jr.

Philip V. Dury, Jr., 88, passed away on March 7, 2024 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY.  Born on April 17, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Philip V. Dury, Sr. and the late Sarah (Ayers) Dury.  On March 5, 1960, he married Marie Elaine Robinson.  She predeceased him on September 16, 1995.

Phil was a lifelong area resident, attended local schools, and earned his Bachelors Degree from Empire State College.  He proudly served in the United States Navy, aboard the U.S.S. Perkins, from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1961.  Phil retired as a Chemist, working for various businesses and enjoyed to bowl.

Phil is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Lee) Nowakowski; grandchildren, Heather Nowakowski and Lennon (Jessica) Nowakowski, NFFD; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Leon; siblings, Sarah (late Jim) McGinnis and Teri (Bill) Young and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents and his wife, Phil was predeceased by a son, Ronald Dury and sisters, Phyllis, Catherine, and Donna.

A time of visitation for family and friends to gather will be on Tuesday, March 12th, from 11-11:30 a.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY (716-297-9007), where a prayer service will he held at 11:30 a.m., with Michael R. Goodlander officiating.  Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue, 3652 Ewings Road, Lockport, NY 14094.
