Antoinette Concetta (Cumbo) DeMita, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home at the age of 86.
Antoinette was born in Niagara Falls, NY to Frank and Rosalia (Rinallo) Cumbo. She attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1950. Antoinette married Mario DeMita on September 19, 1953 at the former Our Lady of Lebanon Church. After raising seven children, she returned to school, graduating from Niagara University with honors, earning degrees in chemistry and biology. Antoinette went on to work for the Niagara Falls Waste Water Treatment Plant as a chemist. She was an accomplished artist (water colors was her passion), musician and avid reader. Her life was an inspiration to us all.
In addition to her husband, Mario, of 65 years, Antoinette is survived by her children, Michelle DeMita, Robert DeMita, Roseanne (Rick) Ianni, Mario (Jennifer) DeMita, Annette (John) Zaroian and Mary (David) Blankenberg and was predeceased by one daughter, Joanne DeMita. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. Private services are being held with Antoinette’s family. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
