On the afternoon of April 10, 2019, Barbara I. Paul, 85, went to meet with her best friend and Savior Jesus! Born in Hamilton Ontario, moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1944 and became an American.
Mom could write a Hallmark card in seconds. Play any musical instrument. Was an architect, electrician, writer, illustrator. A great teacher in all aspects and dimensions of the word! Great at finding THE answer! Optimistic with a never-ending sense of humor.
Daughter of William and Bea Ivey(deceased). Survived by her sister, Duaine Ivey of Lewiston, NY; sons, Douglas and Donald(Kathie), daughters Karen (Michael), Kim (deceased) and Lisa. Mom had 27 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great-grandchildren.
Mom always said, “You can’t be an overcomer, if there is nothing to overcome!” Overcome she did!!! Mom overcame polio at age 7 and Guillain-Barra’ at 47, both of which left her totally paralyzed for over one year, having to learn to walk and live life again!
Mom lived Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for GOOD to those who love God.”
While paralyzed with Guillain-Barra’ she could only sit and read, read she did! Seeing Acts 16:31,”Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD!” Mom was always busy taking care of her family and God worked it out for OUR good so that while we were taking care of her, she took care of us. By believing…she and her household are saved! Praise be unto God!! Mom was a seed that was planted that bore much fruit!
There will be a family gathering in May. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, as they are amazing at helping families. Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R. Goodlander. Please visit www.goodlandercares.com for online condolences.
