Clarence Marshanke Life story

Clarence F. Marshanke of Apache Junction, AZ and formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully Tuesday September 11, 2018 surrounded by his family. 

Clarence was  born on September 6, 1933 in Oil City, PA. He enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Clarence worked extensively at Kimberly Clark paper products and through the Laborers’ Local 91. He served as a volunteer with the Western New York Girl Scouts of America, as a host father for the American Field Service, a driver during the blizzard of ’77 for the Salvation Army and volunteered at St. George’s R.C. Church in Arizona, with various programs including Help for the Needy, Life Teen, and holiday gift distributions for multiple years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth “Betty”; their four daughters, Laurie Marshanke of Niagara Falls, NY, Donna Rule of Nashville, TN, Karen Marshanke of Apache Junction, AZ and Joyce Tyler of Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren, Sean Daly of Tennessee, Samantha Tyler of Arizona and Jessica Tyler of Arizona and four great-grandchildren all of Tennessee. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Roffle of Niagara Falls, NY and Judy Schrecengost of Rockingham, NC as well as numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. Clarence was predeceased by his first grandson, Joshua Marshanke; three brothers, Charles, Martin and Philip and one sister, Lois Perry. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George R.C. Church, 300 E 16th Ave., Apache Junction, AZ, on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with a rosary service prior to Mass at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow Clarence’s funeral mass.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Michael R.
