Deborah A. (Waldeck) Amendt, 62, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at her daughter’s residence, while under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born on February 19, 1956 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of David and Mary (Henley) Waldeck. On August 17, 1991, Deborah married Rodney Amendt in the Town of Niagara.
Mrs. Amendt was a lifelong area resident. Deborah attended local schools, graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School and earned her Associates Degree from Niagara County Community College. Throughout the course of her career, she worked as a cook and waitress for various restaurants as well as a retail clerk for different stores. Mrs. Amendt was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed knitting, Chinese auctions, meat raffles, traveling and bingo. Above all, Deborah loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Mrs. Amendt is survived by children, Shanon (Jon) Newell, Craig (ToniMarie) Waldeck and Scott Amendt; grandchildren, Jordan Waldeck, Jonathon Newell, Samantha Newell, Mikayla McNamara, Madilynn Waldeck, Natalie Waldeck, Matthew Amendt and Skylar Amendt and siblings, Pamela (Vince) Breslin, David (Joyce Dubuc) Waldeck, Thomas Waldeck, Deanna (John) Sever, Lisa Waldeck and William Waldeck. Deborah is also survived by aunts, Pauline Long and Dawn (late Richard Roberts) (late Jake) Guercio; uncle, Harold (Carolyn) Waldeck and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 27th from 4-7:30 p.m. with a service to follow at 7:30 p.m. with the Pastor Laura Norris-Buisch officiating, all to take place in the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice and/or to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
