Delta May (Thomas) Tempest, 97, passed on Thursday, May 23, 2019 while residing at Brookdale Niagara. Born on October 28, 1921 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Irvine and Edith (Reidt) Thomas. On May 30, 1946, Delta married Edward Joseph Tempest. He predeceased her on November 15, 2001.
Mrs. Tempest came to Niagara Falls, NY in 1947, moved to Lewiston in 1987 and in 2011 became a resident of Brookdale Niagara. For over 30 years, Delta was employed as an office manager of the pension fund for the Steamfitters and Plumbers Union Local #129 (currently Local #22). She enjoyed being with her family, spending time at her home in Lewiston, gardening and arts and crafts. Mr. and Mrs. Tempest were active members of the Elks Club in Niagara Falls, where Delta assisted in decorating the lodge for many occasions.
Mrs. Tempest is survived by sons, Terry (Barbara) Tempest of Lewiston, NY and Ricky (Mary Lou) Tempest of Grand Island, NY; grandchildren, Mark (Jessica) Tempest of Lewiston, NY, Jeffrey Tempest of Lewiston, NY, Amber (Larry) Carter of Virginia, Danielle (Danny) Cullen of Lewiston, NY and Craig O’Donnell of Buffalo, NY; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Andrew and Katelyn Tempest, Greyson and Sloane Carter, Josh, Chad and Abby Cullen and Sydney and Stella O’Donnell and several nieces, nephews and cousins in both Niagara Falls, NY and Niagara Falls, Ontario. In addition to her parents and husband, Delta was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Matthews and Viola McCready.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service for Mrs. Tempest on Tuesday, May 28th at 11:30 a.m. at Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
