Donald E. Delaney, Jr., 75, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born on May 4, 1943 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Donald E. Delaney, Sr. and the late Miriam (Smith) Delaney. On August 3, 1968, Donald married the former Janet Nelson in the former Sanborn Methodist Church.
Donald was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from December 6, 1961 until his honorable discharge on September 2, 1966. Donald was employed as a Senior Clerk for Niagara County Office for the Aging, retiring in 2008. Prior to that, he worked at Union Carbide for 10 years. Donald was a longtime member of the American Legion. He was an avid bowler, which was his “first love,” stamp collector, New York Yankees fan and a Food Network and trivia enthusiast . Donald enjoyed watching Jeopardy and children's and college sports.
In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by children, Cheryl Delaney of Niagara Falls, James (Elizabeth) Delaney of Ozark, Al, Ryan (Heather) Delaney of Crofton, MD and John (Mahrya) Delaney of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Kyler, Alden, Rowan, Nathan, Nolan, Harley and Monreaux Delaney; niece, Denise Best; great-nephew, Connor Best; brother-in-law, John Tartaglia and a host of other family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Marilynn Tartaglia.
