Eileen (Schul) Hartwig

Eileen (Schul) Hartwig, 90, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019.  Born on March 16, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Laura (Sachs) Schul.  Eileen married George Hartwig.  He predeceased her in March of 1991.

Eileen was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.  After proudly being a housewife and raising her children, she worked as a property manager for Urban Towers in Lockport and then Niagara Towers in Niagara Falls, where she retired.  Eileen was a longtime member and communicant of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, serving as secretary, in the choir and for Meals-on-Wheels. 

Eileen is survived by a daughter, Peggy Taylor; grandchildren, Vanessa (John) Lhommedieu and Justin Thomas (Melissa) Hartwig; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Tristan; brother, Leonard (Loretta) Schul and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Thomas George Hartwig and two brothers, Howard Schul and Richard (Doris of Niagara Falls) Schul.

The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday, from 3-6 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12th at 10:00 a.m.  Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R.
