Gary J. Hitzel

Gary J. Hitzel, 64, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018.  Born on August 18, 1953, he was the son of the late Francis and Julie (Grandits) Hitzel.

Gary was a lifelong area resident and attended Niagara Wheatfield schools.  On June 25, 1977, he married the former Gail M. Lewin.  Gary was employed as a truck driver, working for various local companies and Colton R.V., as a detailer. 

Gary took pride in detailing his personal vehicles and taking care of his garden and yard.  He also enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle.  Gary loved spending time with his family and his granddaughter, Harper, as well as his dogs, Dylan and Angie.

In addition to his wife of over 41 years, Gary is survived by his children, Nathan Hitzel and Heather (Kevin) Casal; his beloved granddaughter, Harper; one brother, Mark (Sue) Hitzel and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 10th, from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service following at 7:00 p.m., with Walter Printup officiating, all in the Funeral Chapel.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  Memorial offerings may be made to SPCA of Niagara.
