Harold James Edwards passed away at the age of  90.  Though his courage and effort were remarkable, he entered Heaven on Saturday, March 18, 2017.  He was born on May 10, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY to Kenneth and Helen Edwards.

Looking back, Harold accomplished many things in his life.  He served in the U.S.Navy during WWII on USS GOSPER(APA-170).  He worked at Union Carbide & Carborundum and was active as a union representative from 1947-1987.  He played the trombone with the Rainbow Raiders and marched in parades.  He enjoyed good times with family and friends, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, playing cards, and playing at the casino and online.  He won a fishing tournament by catching a 20 lb 10 oz Rainbow Trout which is mounted on his wall.  He shot a 299 bowling game.

He was preceded to Heaven by his loving wife of 65 years, Phyllis, and by their son Robert.  He is survived by his sons, Ron and wife Marcia of Santa Maria CA, Daniel and Brian of Niagara Falls and John of California; his brother, Kenneth of Youngstown; 10 grandchildren, Phillip, Paul, Daniel, Nathan, Erin, Brianna, Sara, Ryan, John, and Sara; 5 great-grandchildren, Avery, Ryan, Ivy, Pierre and Zelena and by a dear friend, that he called his "adopted son", Bob Muehlbauer of Niagara Falls.

There will be no prior visitation.  Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, concluding with Military Honors, on Thursday, March 23rd at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara.  Private entombment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
