Harry Hardenstine Life story

Harry L. Hardenstine, Sr., 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, August 5, 2019.  Born on November 21, 1929 in Throop, PA, he was the son of the late Harry L. Hardenstine and Elizabeth (nee Tranton) (late George) Freeman.  On February 26, 1949, Harry married the love of his life, the former Teresa Conde.  She predeceased him on August 22, 2009.

Mr. Hardenstine came to Niagara Falls as a child and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  Harry proudly served in the United States Military from August 11, 1948 until his honorable discharge from his reserve obligation with the United States Air Force on August 10, 1955. He was employed as a system analyst for Bell Aerospace and then went on to earn a certificate in accounting.  In 1987, Mr. Hardenstine retired from Occidental, where he worked as a Corporate Payroll Manager.  Harry was a devoted follower of Christ, child of God and licensed minister of the Word. He and his grandchildren took time to pray with patients at local nursing homes.  Mr. Hardenstine worshiped at First Assembly of God in Niagara Falls.  Harry’s family was everything to him.  He loved them unconditionally.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to his “special nurses” from Niagara Hospice, who will forever remember his sense of humor.

Mr. Hardenstine is survived by children, Harry L. (late Sharon) Hardenstine, Jr., Thomas Hardenstine and Rose Mary (Alan) Slack; grandchildren, Erica (Daniel) Swiatek, Michelle (Philip) Mocniak, Joseph (fiancé, Katrina) Slack and Teresa (Robert) Kolodziej; great-grandchildren, Danny, Lance, Adrianna, Alana, Zachary and an expected great-grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Harry is also survived by his supportive in-laws, the Conde family and also the Briggs family.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas Hardenstine and a sister, Mary Jane Briggs.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY.  EVERYONE ASSEMBLE AT THE CHURCH.  Prayers of committal and interment will follow, concluding with Military Honors, in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.  Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R.
