John T. Russell

John T. Russell, 54, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born on December 26, 1963 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Helen (Taylor) Russell and the late Robert “Dick” Russell.

John was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1982.  He worked for McCrory’s Store Corporation as a manager in the store and restaurant.  John then went on working as a manager for Rite Aid, until he retired due to his health.  John was an avid Buffalo Sabres and Bills fan.

In addition to his mother, John is survived by his siblings, Sharon (Joseph) Lewis, Timothy (Simone) Russell and Barbara (Dan Virgillo) Acee; his beloved dog, Sabre and aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Russell.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 3-7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where a funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Matthew Kofahl officiating.  Family and friends are also invited to attend a graveside committal service on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to SPCA of Niagara.
