John Santo Tripoli, 94, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 while staying at Northgate Health Care Facility, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born on November 1, 1924 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Carmella (Caruso) Tripoli.
Mr. Tripoli was a lifelong area resident and was raised and attended schools in Buffalo. John proudly served in the United States Navy, during World War II, as a Naval Corpsman, until his honorable discharge on April 9, 1946. For over 40 years, he held many positions working for the Italian & French Wine Company in Buffalo. Mr. Tripoli was a communicant of Holy Angles Church in Buffalo. John, a true man of honor and integrity, will be remembered as humble and kind.
Mr. Tripoli is survived by children, Lynn (Henry) Guiher, Jean (John) Gendron, Michael (Cherie) Tripoli and Rosalie (Steve) Warner; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. John is also survived by sisters, Beatrice (late Al) Ruggerio and Rita (late Ray) Tucker and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his former spouse, Mary and siblings, Madeline (late Anthony) Panaro and Ignatius, Dominic and Alfred (late Ruth) Tripoli.
Visitation on Sunday, October 6th from 12:00-3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where a funeral service, concluding with Military Honors, will follow visitation at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Father Frederick Hinton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the V.A. Medical Center of Buffalo. Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R. Goodlander.
