Lena Pasqualotto Life story

Lena I.(Barbero) Pasqualotto, 93, was embraced by the angels on May 24, 2019.   Born in Niagara Falls on March 28, 1926, Lena was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Tranquilla Barbero, and was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls attending local schools, and graduating from Trott Vocational High School.  She was employed by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Lincoln’s Department Store, and Maxam’s (Kings) Department store.  For many years she also enjoyed serving her customers as an award-winning Avon representative.

A cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Lena’s greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Indeed, she treasured all children, and was lovingly referred to by family and friends alike as Ma or Noni.

Preceded in death by her husband Lorenzo in 1979, Lena was also predeceased by her parents and her brother and sister-in law, Gino and Angie Barbero, by her sister and brother-in-law Bianca and Jack Johnson, and by her beloved, faithful pet and companion of 17 years, Kitty-Gatto.

Lena is survived by and will be dearly missed by her children,  Angela (Carl) Thiele of McKinney, TX; Linda (Mark) McDonald of Splendora, TX; and Mario Pasqualotto of Niagara Falls, NY; her grandchildren, Tammy Auld of Conroe, TX;  Laura (Leon) Smith of Amherst, NY; and Mark Pasqualotto of Niagara Falls, NY; as well as three great-grandchildren, Jessika (Mikey) Candler of Rosenberg, TX; Samantha Kneedler of Atascocita, TX and Olivia Smith of Amherst, NY; her sister, Linda Barbero of Rochester, NY; her brother and sister-in-law, Aldo (Ann) Barbero of Niagara Falls, NY; and her sister and brother-in-law, Anita (Jack) McGuire of Spencerport, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, nephews.   She is also survived by her beautiful SPCA rescued cat, Bella, who will now reside with her son.

The family wishes to thank Niagara Hospice, especially Ryan, and the aides of Venture Forthe in Niagara Falls, especially Erin and Crystal, for the compassionate care they provided to Lena in her home.

In accordance with Lena’s wishes, there will be no prior visitation.  The family welcomes all who wish to celebrate her life at Lena’s Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 15th at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. serving as celebrant.  EVERYONE ASSEMBLE AT THE CHURCH. Following, per Lena’s wishes, she will be laid to rest alongside her husband and with Kitty-Gatto in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Niagara Falls.   In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome, and may be made to Niagara Hospice, Niagara County SPCA, or to the charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R.
