Margaret (Paton) Harnett

Margaret (Paton) Harnett, 72, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at her residence, with her loving family by her side.  Born on July 18, 1945 in Glasgow, Scotland, she was one of 11 children and the daughter of the late Samuel and Jane Paton.  

Mrs. Harnett attended schools in Govan, Scotland and came to the United States at the age of 18.  On February 7, 1970, Margaret married Gerald “Jerry” Harnett and together resided in Lewiston. She was employed by M & T Bank, where she worked as a teller, mainly at the Main and Cedar branch.  Mrs. Harnett retired in 2006.  Margaret’s family was the center of her life and she will be deeply missed.

In addition to her beloved husband, Mrs. Harnett is survived by children, Teresa (Daniel) Meacham, Jr. and Daniel Harnett; granddaughter, Kristen Meacham and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 6th from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Niagara Hospice.  Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R.
