Margaret “Sherry” (Cleveland) Schmahl, 77, of Youngstown, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born on July 14, 1941 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth (Starchuck) Cleveland.
Sherry, as she was known to family and friends, attended schools in Canada and came to Niagara Falls in 1961. She was employed as a School Bus Driver for Niagara Falls Coach Lines. Being deeply devoted to her family, 11 years ago Sherry retired to be a full-time grandmother to her grandson, Patrick.
Sherry is survived by children, Carolyn Schmahl, Kristine (John Myers) Minteer, Charles P. (Sherry) Schmahl and Michael Schmahl, Esq.; step-children, Gary and Tina Schmahl; grandchildren, Richard, James and Charles “Tony” Schmahl, Nicole (Robert Garcia) Baker and Patrick Schmahl; great-grandchildren, Jamall, James Jr., Ethan and Miley Schmahl; her sister, Gail (late James) Bokor; nieces and nephews, Raymond Simpson, Michelle (Peter) Tardibuono and Cathy, Ann and Mike Bokor and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former spouse, NFPD Ret. Lt. Charles (Barbara) Schmahl and sisters, Nancy Drennen and Bonnie Dawson.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 1st from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Flowers are gratefully declined.
