Marion (Rogers) Taggart, 87, of the Town of Niagara, entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, February 18, 2019, while in the presence of her family and doggies. Born on April 16, 1931, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (George) Rogers.
Mrs. Taggart married William R. Taggart in August of 1952. He predeceased her on June 24, 1999. Marion worked at her mother-in-law’s restaurant in North Tonawanda and in January of 1977, her and her husband opened and operated Taggart’s Tavern in the Town of Wheatfield, until 2004. Mrs. Taggart liked poker, going to the casino and cooking, which was her greatest passion.
Mrs. Taggart is survived by daughters, Deborah Jean (Geoffrey) Buskirk and Clara Taggart Summers; grandchildren, John (Cheryl) Taggart, Nicole (Glenn) Kane, William (Marianne) Lohr, Wanda Buskirk, Jamey Buskirk, Jarrett Buskirk, Stephen Buskirk, Michael Taggart, Katie Taggart and Christopher Taggart; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was predeceased by children, William Andrew Taggart, Patrick Michael Taggart and Patrice Marie Taggart and her sister, Edna (late Dr. Robert W.) Haines.
The family will be present for visitation on Saturday, February 23rd from 4-7 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, with closing prayers at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to join the family, following services, in a celebration of Marion’s life at The Orange Tree Inn, 2230 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R. Goodlander.
