Mary Jane (Moore) Wagner, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed on Sunday, May 26, 2019 while staying at Niagara Hospice House. Born on October 20, 1936 in Morris Town, TN, she was the daughter of the late McKinley and Sealey (Sampson) Moore. On July 14, 1956, Mary Jane married Richard Wagner, Sr. He predeceased her in 2005.
Mrs. Wagner came to Niagara Falls at the age of 8 and attended local schools. Mary Jane was employed by Mount St. Mary’s Hospital as a nurses aide for 13 years and later as a switchboard operator. She became “the voice of St. Mary’s,” as she would lead in evening prayer, signifying the end of visiting hours. Mrs. Wagner enjoyed oil painting, vacationing in Cape Cod and spending time with her loving family.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by daughters, Kim (Maryann DeGennaro) Wagner and Phyllis Wagner; grandson, Dylan James Wagner; siblings, Geneva (late Keith) Slaght, Lewis “Bud” (Lucy) Moore and Shirley Chapman; a longtime friend, who was like a daughter, Dale Eisenman and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Jane was predeceased by sons, Allen Dale Wagner and Richard Wagner, Jr. and a sister, Juanita (late Joe) Randock.
Visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where a funeral service will held on Friday, May 31st at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Maines officiating. Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice or Erie County Medical Center.
