Michael "Richard" Wisnock

Michael “Richard” Wisnock, 80, of Grand Island, NY, passed from this life on Monday, March 19, 2018 in Mount St. Mary’s Hospital.  Born on December 13, 1937 in Medina, NY, he was the son of the late Michael B. and Josephine (Kozody) Wisnock.  On September 24, 1960, Michael married the former Rosanne Zuczuski in Sacred Heart Church in Medina.

Mr. Wisnock attended schools in Medina and graduated from Medina High School in 1955.  Michael earned his bachelor of science degree from General Motors Institute. Throughout his life, he resided in Medina, Newfane, Ransomville and recently settled in Grand Island. In 1955, Mr. Wisnock enlisted and proudly served in the United States Navy, as a fire control technician 2nd Class, until his honorable discharge on October 15, 1958.  Michael was employed as a mechanical engineer for Harrison Radiator, until he retired in 1998.  He was a former member of the Sacred Heart Club and was a fan of the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and NASCAR.  Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.  

In addition to his beloved wife of over 57 years, Mr. Wisnock is survived by his children, Michael D. (Kaara) Wisnock, Michele Hobbs and Melissa (Sean) Squire; grandchildren, Eric, Jacob and Noah Wisnock and Ella and Kensie Squire; an aunt and nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his sister, Marcia Gibbons.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, concluding with Navy Military Honors, on Friday, March 23rd at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, with Rev. Father Stewart Lindsay O.S.F.S. officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
