It is with deep sadness that the family of Robert A. Bagby, Sr. announces his passing on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, due to a lengthy illness.  He was surrounded at his home by the love of his family.

Robert was born on February 11, 1930 in Buffalo, NY.  He was the son of the late William and Virginia (Kelly) Bagby.  Robert married the love of his life, the former Judith “Judy” Malaney.  Judy predeceased him on May 30, 2012.

Robert proudly served in the United States Army, during World War II, until his honorable discharge on November 7, 1956.  For fifty years, he was the owner and operator of the service station, Bagby’s Sunoco, located at the corner of Military and Porter-Packard Roads, in the Town of Niagara.  Robert served as a volunteer fireman for Niagara No. 1 Volunteer Fire Company, in the Town of Niagara, for twenty-one years.

Robert’s family was truly the central focus of his existence.  He was simply the best dad and grandpa his family could of asked for.  Robert’s family was richly blessed because of him.

“Dad, your heart gave out, but a part of your heart will live on in mine, which is the love that you gave our family.  It will always shine bright in my heart; for a part of you will remain with me.”~Bonnie

(Carrie) Bagby, III and Nicholas and Matthew Santoro; his great-grandson, Bobby Bagby; sister, Edna (late Earl) DeLong and his niece, Sharon (Harold) King.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by sons, Robert A. “Chip” Bagby, Jr. and Kevin Bagby and siblings, William Bagby, Ryland (late Helen) Bagby, Alice (late Art) Boodle and May (late Ray) Key.
