Rosemary C. Fratello

Rosemary C. Fratello, 76, of Lewiston, NY, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Buffalo General Medical Center, following a brief illness.  Born on June 25, 1942 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore “Tootie” and Rose (Milea) Fratello.  
 

Rosemary was a lifelong area resident.  She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1960.  Rosemary earned her Bachelors Degree in Education from Niagara University and later her Masters Degree in Education from Buffalo State College. For thirty years, she was employed and retired as a Middle School Math Teacher working for the Niagara Wheatfield School District at Edward Town Middle School. Rosemary was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls and currently of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Lewiston.  She was active with her high school reunion committee, several organizations and loved to travel.
 

Rosemary is survived by her sister, Margaret Ann (late Earl) Smith; nieces, Lynda Smith and Jennifer (John) Iusi; dear cousins, Mary Ann and Fran Murphy, great-nieces and great-nephews; Olivia Smith, Gabriella Iusi, Holly Gillenwater, Jacklyn Gillenwater, Steven Gillenwater, Alexa Miles, Richard Hampton and many cousins as well as cherished lifelong friends.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Shenk and a niece, Barbara Hampton.
 

Visitation will be on Monday, from 4-7 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial for Rosemary will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 23rd at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with Msgr. David LiPuma serving as celebrant.  EVERYONE ASSEMBLE AT THE CHURCH.  Prayers of committal and interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one’s choosing.  Arrangements are under the direction of Michael R.
