Anthony S. Lanasa, also known as Tony, 81, of North Tonawanda, NY, peacefully entered into eternal rest, in the presence of his loving family, on August 30, 2023. Born on June 22, 1942, in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Antonio and Jennie (Parisa) Lanasa.
Tony was a lifelong area resident and attend local schools. He retired from American Axle and Manufacturing, where he was employed for almost 34 years. Tony was a member and communicant of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Ransomville as well as the Free Wheelers Car Club in Niagara Falls. He had a passion for antique cars and hot rods and enjoyed spending his weekly time with his friends at Tim Hortons. Above all, Tony loved being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Tony is survived by sons, Donald LaNasa and Daniel (Raphaelle) LaNasa; step-daughter, Sheryl Leffler; grandchildren, Daniel (Melissa) LaNasa, Jonathan (Sabrina) LaNasa, Adam LaNasa, Luca LaNasa, Ryan Cote, Craig LaNasa, Jake Leffler, Sam Leffler and Lisa (Bob) Hughes; great-granddaughter, Carmin LaNasa; siblings, Florence (Terrance) Gorman and Catherine (late David) Klay and nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Tony was predeceased by spouses, Judith (Whitenight) Lanasa and Dorothy (Spengler) Lanasa; step-daughter, Donna (Thomas) Hunt and a brother, Joseph.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, September 1st, from 4-7 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Tony’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY, with Rev. Daniel Ogeibfun serving as celebrant. Friends and family please assemble at the church. Private interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Our Lady of Revelation Grotto of Immaculate Conception, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY 14131.
