Aurelanne "Oie" (Abel) Clarkson

Aurelanne “Oie” Clarkson, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2020 while under the loving care of the staff at St. Joseph Post-Acute Center. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (McCoulf) Abel. She was predeceased by Robert Vernon Clarkson, her husband of 56 years, and brothers, Frank and Richard Abel.

 Oie was the loving and devoted mother of Kirk (Pat) Clarkson, Kathy (Rich) DeMarco, and Kerry (Kathy) Clarkson.  She was predeceased by one daughter, Kristy Christie.  She especially loved her role as Grama Duck to ten grandchildren, Jess (Carlos), Adam, Courtney (Travis), Jeremy (Kayla), Bre (Kyle), DJ (Ashley), Brooke, Maggie, Matthew, and Megan, and nine great-grandchildren.  She was loved by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Oie worked for 26 years at Niagara County Savings Bank, Norstar Bank, and Fleet Bank before retiring in September 1994.  She was an active member of Riverside Presbyterian Church where she served in many volunteer roles.  She volunteered monthly at Heart, Love and Soul Soup Kitchen. Oie enjoyed walking Goat Island, playing cards, and visiting on her porch with family and friends.  She never missed an opportunity to cheer on or spend time with her grandchildren.
