Billy V. Tomlin, NFPD, Ret.

Billy V. Tomlin, NFPD, Ret., 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on July 26, 2023 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.  Born on January 12, 1930 in Dozier, Alabama, he was the son of the late Herbert and Pearl (nee Pitts) Tomlin.  On September 12, 1953, Billy married Betty V. Salisbury.  She predeceased him on May 14, 2023.  

Billy attended schools in Alabama and came to Niagara Falls, NY permanently in the early 1950’s.  He proudly served in the United States Army, during the Korean War, from 1951, until his honorable discharge in 1953.  Billy retired as a Police Officer, working for the Niagara Falls Police Department and also owned and operated a used car lot that he loved working at. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Billy enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Billy is survived by children, Mark Tomlin, Steven (Betty) Tomlin, Kevin (Annette) Tomlin and Daniel (Rosel) Tomlin; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents and wife, Billy was predeceased by a son, John.

Family and friends are invited to attend Billy’s funeral service on Saturday, August 5th, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 616 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY, with Father Isaac Ihiasota serving as celebrant.  EVERYONE ASSEMBLE AT THE CHURCH.  Prayers of committal and interment of Billy and his wife, Betty, will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
