Carl W. Albion

Carl W. Albion, 76, of Lewiston, NY, peacefully passed into the loving arms of Jesus, following his courageous battle with melanoma, on July 19, 2023.  Born on May 2, 1947 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Carl O. and Violet E. (nee Parrett) Albion. On June 28, 1969, Carl married Gloria J. Baldassarre in St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls.

Carl was a lifelong area resident.  He graduated from Lewiston Porter High School and earned his Bachelors Degree from Niagara University.  Carl proudly served in the United States Army National Guard from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1973.  He was currently a valued member of the Firth Jewelers family in the Town of Niagara and previously, was the owner and operator, along with his late father, of the former Carl's Jewelers.

Carl was a member of Niagara Frontier Bible Church, where he served as an elder.  He was a great supporter of Niagara University basketball, serving many years as booster club president.  Carl was also past-president of the Main Street Merchant Association.  He served on the board of associates for Mount St. Mary's Hospital as well as the board of directors for the Town of Niagara Business and Professional Association.  Carl was an avid golfer and lifelong Dodgers fan.  He enjoyed Niagara University basketball games, supporting his grandson in baseball and granddaughter in volleyball.

In addition to his beloved wife, Carl is survived by children, Grace Anne (Rev. Donna Chianca) Albion, Robin Kathleen (Brian) Snider and Patrick Carl Albion; grandchildren, Sophia Rose and Trent 'Duke' William Snider; sisters, Eileen (late Peter) MacLaren, Susan (Robert) Huard and Karen (Pastor Kenneth) Stidham; caring nephew and great-niece, Robert Marasco and Sarah Muth and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday, July 23rd, from 1-5 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).  A celebration of Carl’s life lived here and life now in the presence of Jesus will be held on Monday, July 24th, at 11:00 a.m., at Niagara Frontier Bible Church, 5287 Bronson Drive, Lewiston, NY 14092.  Friends invited.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice and/or Niagara Frontier Bible Church.  Professional arrangements are under the care of the Goodlander family.  Share condolences and view his tribute video at GOODLANDERCARES.com
