Carl Edward Litten

Carl Edward Litten, also known as Eddie, age 94, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on March 12, 2025 at North Gate Health Care Facility.  Born on May 21, 1930 in Washington, MD, he was the son of the late Carl James and Minnie (Banks) Litten and the husband of the late Joan C. (Sulkey) Litten.

Eddie graduated from Niagara Falls High School as well as the former Trott Vocational High School.  He proudly served in the United States Army, during the Korean War, until his honorable discharge as a Corporal on June 30, 1961.  Eddie retired from the General Motors Corporation (Tonawanda Plant), where he was employed as a Millwright.  He was an active member of St. Leo's Church.  Eddie enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, woodworking and working on cars.   Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.

Eddie is survived by daughters, Judith (Michael) Cisek and Jeanne (late James Woods) Wilkins; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillian (late John) Elmore and Alice Hughes and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Edith A. (late Harry III) Thaxton; grandson, Andrew Wilkins and siblings, Betty Catherine, Mary Louise and Edna.  

Family and friends are invited to attend Eddie’s prayers of committal, concluding with Military Honors, on Thursday, March 20th, at 11:00 a.m., in the Holy Angles Mausoleum Chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, with Rev. Mario Racho officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.
