Christine (Sasse) Burness

Christine (Sasse) Burness, 72, of Lockport, NY, passed away on September 9, 2023, at her residence, while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born on April 11, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jean (Horan) Sasse.  In December of 1985, Christine married John C. Burness in Trenton, NJ.  

Christine was raised and attended schools in Philadelphia, PA.  She came to Lockport with her family in August of 1998 and was employed by Catholic Health, for 20 years, as a home health aide.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to all the health care heroes who helped Christine and her family along the way.

In addition to her husband, Christine is survived by sons, Johnnie J. Burness and Jonah C. Burness; daughter-in-law, Zoe Merideth; grandson, Reid G. Burness and a brother, Eric Sasse. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Sasse, Jr.
