Christine Ann (Wilgosz) Root

Christine Ann (nee Wilgosz) Root, 75, passed away on June 20, 2023.  Born on August 31, 1947 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (nee Tomala) Wilgosz.

Christine attended schools in Niagara Falls and graduated from the former Madonna High School.  She lived most of her life in Lockport, NY and retired from the Niagara County Clerks Office in Lockport, NY.  Christine was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Lockport. She volunteered at Olcott Beach Carousel Park for many years.

Christine is survived by her son, Richard Root, his wife Tracy and their two children, Aiden and Aaron. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Amy Gardner-Root, her son Cory and his children Abel and Dean. She was a sibling to Joe, Jimmy and Leo and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, George Root.

Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Monday, June 26th, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, with Rev.
