Dennis Ellis Life story

Dennis Alan Ellis, 80, of the Town of Wilson, NY, passed away on February 19, 2026.  Born on September 7, 1945 in Muncy, PA, he was the son of the late Lehman Boyd and Betty Marie (Shaffer) Ellis and the husband of Catherine Ann (Kitzmiller) Ellis.

 

Dennis proudly served in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War, from September 6, 1963, until his honorable discharge on September 2, 1966.  He retired in 2000 from General Motors Corporation in Tonawanda, NY, where he was employed as a Toolsetter. Dennis enjoyed fishing and hunting and street rod cars.  

 

In addition to his beloved wife of over 58 years, Dennis is survived by his son, Ronald Alan (Bobbie L.) Ellis; Samantha Joy Ellis, Jeffery Ess and Samantha Ess; sister, Debra Ellis and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Gary (late Elizabeth) Ellis, Skip (Gale) Ellis and Karen Ellis.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend his Celebration of Life, on Sunday, March 1st, from 1-4 p.m., concluding with Military Honors, at The Ship Bar and Grill, 5612 Tonawanda Creek Road, Lockport, NY 14094. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.
