Dennis J. Lewis

Dennis J. Lewis, 81, of Wheatfield, NY, passed away on July 19, 2025 at Niagara Hospice House, after a short illness.  Born on November 13, 1943 in Indiana, PA, he was the son of the late Howard and Veda (Steele) Lewis and the husband of Marcia M. (Darling) Lewis.

Dennis graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School and attended Bryant and Stratton College.  He proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as a Jet Engine Mechanic, graduating at the top of his class, from August 4, 1964, until his honorable discharge on August 2, 1968.  Dennis was employed as an Automotive Mechanic, working for various local mechanic shops. He was an active member of Bacon Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Superintendent.  Dennis enjoyed gardening, airplanes and cars.

In addition to his beloved wife of over 30 loving years, Dennis is survived by siblings, Eric (late Joyce) Lewis and Gloria (late Myril) Cox and many dear friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.

All are welcome to gather for visitation on Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).  Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, July 25th, at 10:00 a.m. in Bacon Memorial Presbyterian Church, 166 59th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Lisa Giacomazza officiating. Prayers of committal and interment, concluding with Military Honors, will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 and/or the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
