Diane M. (Peters) Spavento

Diane M. (Peters) Spavento, age of 69, passed away on June 9, 2024 at Buffalo General Medical Center.  Born on May 20, 1955 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Rutkowski) Peters and the wife of the late Perry J. Spavento, MD.

Diane was a lifelong area resident.  She graduated from Niagara Falls High School and earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Niagara County Community College.  Diane retired as a registered Nurse working for Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  She proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.  Diane served as a volunteer for the Niagara County SPCA and loved animals.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Katie Spavento, MD; sister, Pat (Carl) Nowakowski and nieces, Jennifer Curcione and Kristin Nowakowski Kematic.

Private visitation, prayers of committal and entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery was held with Diane’s family. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara County SPCA.
