Frederick A. Sowicki, 82, of Youngstown, NY, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on October 22, 2025. Born on September 28, 1943 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Philip John Sowicki and the late Amy (Dobrenski)Allera and the husband of Sharon M. (Bennion) Sowicki.
Fred graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. He was employed as a Train Operator for Harrison Radiator in Lockport, NY. Fred drove stock car at Ransomville Speedway, enjoyed racing, hunting, building motorcycles and loved dogs.
In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by children, Christine Luff, Phillip (late Rachel) Sowicki and Laurie (Michael) Essenburg; grandchildren, Lindsay, Andrew, Ethan, Colin, Tristen, William Frederick, Phillip, Averi, Mavis, Owen, Gabrielle and Christian; several great-grandchildren; sister, Valerie (Marvin) McCartney; many nieces, nephews and cousins and his dog, Buddy. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis (Merrill) Spivak.
Family and friends are invited to attend Fred’s funeral service on Saturday, November 1st, at 2:00 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Private interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
