George A. Amendola, Sr.

George A. Amendola, Sr., 80, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on November 28, 2023 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.  Born on July 29, 1943 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Augustus and Dorothy (nee Rader) Amendola.  On August 21, 1964, George married Suzanne E. Waide.

George was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  He was employed as a pipefitter for the UA Local #129 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and retired as Chief Plumbing Inspector from the City of Niagara Falls.  While a member of the union, George served as recording secretary, president and trustee.  He was also a member of the Niagara Falls United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, where he served as secretary and president and ultimately was presented a senatorship #15010.  George enjoyed golfing and keeping his yard well manicured.

In addition to his beloved wife of over 59 years, George is survived by children, Gina (Ron) Koop, George A. (Marcy) Amendola II, and Guistin R. 'Gus' (Amy) Amendola; grandchildren, Courtney Amendola, Cameron Koop, and Jillian Koop and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his sister, Carol Cappy.

The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, December 2nd, from 2-6 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).
