In Memory of Irene Pernesky Putz
March 19, 1949 – December 12, 2024
Irene Pernesky Putz, age 75, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, at Niagara Hospice House. She is survived by her loving husband, David Putz; her children, Kristine Czajkowski and Pamela and Timothy McInnis; her step-children, Michelle Warford, Lynn Baumgartner, and David Putz and Amy Partsch- Putz and her grandchildren, Hunter, Morgan, Peyton, Emily, Jenna, and Devon. She was predeceased by an infant son.
Irene had a love for life that was as bright as her nickname "Sparkle Grandma”. A longtime resident of Youngstown, NY, she found joy in her beautiful gardens, especially her favorite irises, and loved spending time by the shores of Lake Ontario. She worked for many years as a banker with Marine Midland (Key Bank) and retired as an Assistant Manager; in recent years, she found joy working at Baker Farm. Irene also had a playful side—she loved the casino, sipping White Zinfandel, and stepping outside to "check the weather" (with a cigarette in hand, of course).
At a future date, Irene's life will be celebrated by friends and family joining to honor her memory-wearing their sparkliest outfit, sharing drinks, laughs, and a toast to Sparkle Grandma. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Niagara Hospice House, in memory of Irene Putz.
Irene’s family has entrusted her care to the Goodlander family, OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Share condolences and memories at GOODLANDERCARES.com
