James Jr. ‘Jay’ Ferguson, 70, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on May 18, 2022. Born on August 1, 1951 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Arbie and Lola (Crittenden) Ferguson.
Jay, as he was known to family and friends, was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. He held various positions working for numerous businesses. Jay was a congregant of Trinity Baptist Church in Niagara Falls and was a disciple of Jesus Christ, daily following Jesus.
James is survived by his wife, Joyce A. (Green) Ferguson; sons, Octavious Ferguson, Shaquille Ferguson, Clifton Porter, Martice Porter, Ja'Von Porter-Kent and Antwon Porter-Smith; daughters, Patrina Porter and Beverly (Clarence) Daniels; 29 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; step-children, Aretha Videau, Towanda Moore, Stanley (Hope) Moore, Jr., and Desiree Moore; 13 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Lola (Ruben) Cheatham, Annie Presley, John (Tameka) Ferguson, Gloria Ferguson and Anthony Ferguson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by children, LaTonya Porter-Stewart, James Porter and LaTesha Porter; twin grandchildren, Na’lani and Na’lantae and a brother, Arthur Ferguson.
The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday, May 24th from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where Jay’s home-going celebration will begin at 12:00 p.m. Professional arrangements are under the care of the Goodlander family.
